Part-Time Graphic Designer & Print Assistant
Location: Broadford, Isle of Skye
Hours: 12–15 hours per week (Spread over 2 or 3 days – flexible)
Salary: Competitive / Negotiable depending on experience
Position Type: Permanent, Employed (PAYE – tax and National Insurance handled by us)
Are you a creative mind looking for a flexible local role? Do you have a sharp eye for design but want to see your work come to life physically?
Strath Print is a small, busy design and print company based in Broadford. We are looking for a part-time Graphic Designer & Print Assistant to join our small team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to balance their design skills with a practical, hands-on role in production.
The Role
In this position, you will split your time between digital creativity and physical production.
- Design: Working on a variety of client projects, from branding and business stationery to marketing materials and local print jobs.
- Print Production: Learning how to operate our printing machinery, finishing equipment, and managing the day-to-day production workflow.
No printing experience? No problem. While we need you to hit the ground running with your graphic design skills, we are more than happy to teach you the printing side of the business on the job.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven Graphic Design Experience: Proficiency in standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Attention to Detail: Precision is key, both in proofing designs and setting up print jobs.
- A Can-Do Attitude: As a small team, we all muck in. You should be happy moving between sitting at a desk designing and standing on your feet running the printers.
- Reliability & Communication: Good communication skills to chat with local clients and ensure deadlines are met.
What We Offer
- Flexibility: 12 to 15 hours a week, ideally spread over 2 or 3 days. We are happy to discuss a schedule that fits around your other commitments.
- Peace of Mind: This is a fully employed position. No messing around with self-assessment invoices—we take care of your tax and National Insurance contributions.
- Skill Development: Learn the ins and outs of the commercial print industry from a supportive team.
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to chat! Please send your CV and a brief portfolio (or link to your work) showcasing your design experience to info@strathprint.co.uk or drop by the shop for a chat.
